Jonathan received his Master’s Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Idaho State University. He has experience and training in working with couples and individuals on a variety of relationship issues including: conflict resolution, communication skills, sexual health, relationship abuse, dating problems, infidelity, addiction, etc. Jonathan also enjoys working with individuals who may be struggling from trauma and other common mental health concerns. This includes working with people who are confronting faith crisis/transition, sexual concerns, inter-personal conflict, depression and anxiety. He also has a special interest in helping first-responders with any issues they may be facing. Jonathan is trained in a variety of treatment modalities including, existential psychotherapeutic techniques and EMDR trauma therapy.
Jonathan believes that learning, growth, suffering, and pain are integral parts of the human experience. Being mindful, finding meaning, taking responsibility, and fostering acceptance allows a person or couple to make it through the storms of life. He seeks to walk the road of life with his clients to help them find a deeper meaning, value, and a sense of belonging.
When he is not counseling, Jonathan is working on varied construction projects, trail running in the mountains, or backcountry skiing.
