Kirsten Griggs, LCPC

Master of Education in Counseling Psychology

Kirsten Griggs is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has been with Creekside since 2008. She received her Bachelor’s degree at Utah State University and then received her Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology Brigham Young University. Since 1994, Kirsten has been working as a mental health counselor. She first worked as a school counselor at Sugar-Salem School District and after about four years went to work for the State of Idaho with The Department of Juvenile Corrections (DJC). She worked first in the capacity of a clinician and then as a Clinical Supervisor working with adolescents with a variety of mental health and legal issues. She worked for DJC for several years and also opened her own private practice during that time. In 2004, she decided to go full-time into private practice and is thrilled to have found a home with Creekside Counseling.

Kirsten has extensive experience working with children and adolescents and is skilled in art and play therapy. She also has years of experience working with adults and couples and sees clients with a variety of issues including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, trauma recovery, divorce recovery and relationship issues. Kirsten also works with the partners of sex addicts, both in individual and group therapy.

Kirsten holds a firm belief in the power people have to change their beliefs, their attitudes, and their behaviors. She sincerely values the opportunity she has in helping others make lasting changes that bring increased joy and happiness into their lives.
